Jennifer qualified in 2008 with a Bsc hons in Occupational Therapy from the Robert Gordon University. Jennifer specialises in Old Age Psychiatry, working with people with cognitive impairment and Dementia as well as people with other mental health conditions. As well as the mental health conditions which tend to be the focus of the initial request for input, Jennifer’s work also focuses on the physical and social challenges which people can face during the aging process or following illness, injury or other interruptions to life.
Occupational Therapy aims to help you live your best life, to be able to do the things that you need or want to do. Jennifer works with people, enabling them to overcome challenges in completing everyday tasks or activities which have been interrupted for some reason. This can include tasks such as self-care, cooking, accessing the community or social settings as well as hobbies. Occupational Therapy uses a holistic approach to assessment and treatment, considering cognitive, physical, environmental and social factors, all of which can impact on a person’s ability to perform activities.
